Ustadha Noura Shamma is Coming to the SeekersHub!

Once upon a time, I used to take SunniPath (now Qibla) courses. I started in undergrad, and for many years thereafter every semester I would wait for the course catalog with intense excitement. I would read over syllabi, make lists of the classes I wanted to take and agonize over what courses would make the “final cut”. What is incredible about schools like Qibla and SeekersGuidance is that they have wonderful teachers, and from the comfort of your home, even if you don’t have teachers physically nearby, you can learn.

Ustadha Noura is one such teacher. Her courses on the Makkah and Madina parts of the Sirah, her class on the Companions and her lectures during Qibla’s “women only” conference were beautiful, inspirational and heart softening, and are among my favourite classes that I had a chance to take. Aside from her classes, Ustadha Noura teaches you how to improve your character with her own beautiful example.

And alhamidullah this weekend, Ustadha Noura will insha’allah be here in Toronto (the blessings of this city!) and teaching at the Hub this weekend! After gaining so much from learning with her online it feels like a rare, not to be missed chance to learn from her in person. Class details below:

Saturday, November 19

Session: Madly in Love: Walking the Way of the Companions, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Sunday, November 20

Session: The Prophet and his Family, 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Evening Reflection: 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm, Ustadha Noura will be leading sisters in remembering the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the Divine through poetic recitation and song.

Ustadha Noura spent two years studying at Zaytuna Institute with Shaykh Salek bin Siddina, Shaykh Hamza Yusuf, and Dr. Thomas Cleary. Since 2003, she has been studying Hanafi fiqh, aqida, and Arabic in Amman, where she currently lives. A more detailed biography can be found at
